Who we are

Paul Merritt and Matt Gillett both have a love for sports, particularly rugby league. They’ve joined forces to create Merritt Sports because of their unique perspectives on the world of professional sports and how it relates to building wealth and security for individual athletes.

Matt Gillett enjoyed a glittering rugby league career spanning over a decade at the top level, including representative honours for his state and country. Beyond sport, Matt has taken a keen interest in the business world as an investor in sports enterprises. He knows and understands how important it is for athletes to start thinking about their future early on in their careers.

Paul Merritt is a third-generation real estate professional. He has spent over 30 years working in property, building and development. His knowledge of the Australian housing market and solid investing principles provides clients with the peace of mind they are working with someone who understands their concerns and what buying property in the real world means. As a keen rugby league supporter, Paul has spent many years around the game’s players and administrators. He understands the challenges young sports professionals face in deciding how best to invest their earnings.
